Developed by FCAT, the heart of our programme revolves around the WIKI Bookmark, a bespoke, student-friendly, printed resource, which provides students with the most common prefixes, roots, and suffixes found in academic vocabulary. This tool is designed to embed inclusion within every lesson, providing an effective scaffold for those with SEND or literacy gaps, empowering students to become self-regulated learners. It ensures that high-standard academic vocabulary is accessible to the entire cohort, removing the barriers to complex Tier 2 and 3 language in real-time.

WIKI Build is a proven literacy intervention that helps students decode, spell, and comprehend new vocabulary through a structured approach. Research shows that 60% of English words have Greek or Latin origins, rising to over 90% in science and technology-based vocabulary. By mastering these fundamental building blocks, students can decode complex words with ease and become independent, confident readers across all subjects.
